Not to date today's guest too much but for context this guy graduated with a diploma in computer science in 1988, and not to make me sound like a baby in comparison but that’s literally the year that I was born. After graduating he became a Technology Consultant with Mercer Canada where he led development and marketing of solutions for corporate benefits administration. From there he became a Lotus Notes Business Manager before transitioning into the Marketing Director for Sybase now SAP the maker of the world's number one database. He then went on to become the head of product marketing for the world's number one business intelligence platform Cognos now IBM. Over the last twenty years our guest would continue the rise through various senior marketing roles, all the while gaining notoriety as one of the best growth hackers before this was even a term. The person sitting across the table from me today is Darryl Praill and he is currently the Chief Marketing Officer of Vanilla Soft, the industry’s most successful sales engagement platform that helps sales development teams engage with over 20 million sales contacts every month. Darryl is a high tech marketing executive with over 25 years of experience, spanning startups, restarts, consolidations, acquisitions, direct investments and IPOs. He’s a guest lecturer, a public speaker, radio personality and has been featured in numerous podcasts, case studies, and best selling books. Darryl is a former recipient of the coveted 40 under 40 award, and has held senior executive roles in leading companies including Sybase, IBM, Kinaxis and Airbus. In his career he’s raised over $50 million dollars in venture funding across multiple organizations and consulted with world class corporations including Salesforce, SAP, and Neilson to name a few.
