Today's guest graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tuft’s University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. She spent a few years working as a Research Associate first at Forrester Research then as an Internet Marketing Intern at Corning Inc. She received a Ph.D in Communications from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Pennsylvania. There she was a Research and Teaching Fellow, teaching courses like New Media and Community. In 2012 she leaves and becomes a UX Researcher at Facebook, where she is promoted to Research Manager. While at Facebook she teaches Sociology of Virtual Community and Social Media at UC Berkeley. In 2015 she leaves Facebook to take up the position of Senior Manager of Research at Tripadvisor, where she quickly rose through the ranks being promoted to Associate Director of Research and she now works as Research Director there. Our guest is none other than Loi Sessions Goulet an expert in researching the sociology of new media.
